Wine lovers, this page is for you!
Today, we’ve chosen to highlight the Gaillac vineyards, because they’re a little-known part of the Occitanie region … Yet there’s not a crossroads or road that doesn’t point to a château, a farmhouse or a cooperative cellar. A wealth of Tarn heritage!

A little history...
Gaillac is one of France’s oldest vineyards, and unquestionably the oldest in the South-West.
There are several reasons why vines were planted in the Gaillac region and not elsewhere: its privileged geographical position, at the crossroads of water and land routes, and the fertility of the soil. Gaillac is part of the large family of “South-Western Wines “, which includes 17 AOCs and 12 PGIs.
Between the ocean and the sea, Gaillac’s climate offers an idyllic setting: just the right amount of Atlantic humidity, Mediterranean heat and a hint of Autan wind.
Everything to spoil the vines and let the grapes develop to their optimum ripeness, for a generous and seductive palette of aromas.
The Gaillac vineyards are characterized by a great diversity of terroirs. There are no fewer than 6: Terrasses de la Rive Gauche, Coteaux de la Rive Droite, Plateau Cordais, Zone de Cunac, Zone de Cabanès and Zone de Lavaur.

The Vignobles & Découvertes label

Since 2010, the Gaillac vineyards have been awarded the Vignobles & Découvertes. This recognition, awarded by Atout France (France’s tourism development agency), rewards tourist and wine destinations offering a wide range of complementary tourist products, making it easier for customers to organize their stay and directing them to qualified services.
This desire to move forward together is what drives us, which is why we work with Gaillac Visita “Made in Tarn” tourism agency specializing in wine tourism. Fanny and Mathilde propose:
. Apéro bateau: a must this summer! (wine tasting aboard a gabarre)
. Wine Tour
. Wine workshop
. Apéro Time: a fun way to discover wine (smell and taste games)
A warm welcome guaranteed! Whether you’re an oenophile, an epicurean or a curious tourist, there’s something for everyone…
Organic vacations
At Domaine du Buc, we’re increasingly moving towards a greener way of life. We therefore encourage you to discover biodynamic wine, which takes the organic approach even further. How do we do it? By intensifying soil life and using the lunar calendar. There are 80 organic farms in the Gaillac region, representing 16% of the vineyards! Another suggestion for “slow tourists”: the Gaillac wine route by bike! And for those who are sporty, but not too sporty, the electric bike option is ideal.
Are you already salivating? Don’t hesitate, book now your stay in our bed and breakfast at Domaine du Buc. We also offer a themed stay 1-night wine tour.
